EDITORIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PUBLICATIONS

1. General requirements

The scientific papers, reports and notifications, publications of documents and memorials, historical references, bibliographic and historical studies reviews, reviews of new publications, reports on scientific events and events in Ukrainian or English are accepted.

The volume of manuscripts is not more than 40,000 character prints, including spaces between words, punctuation, numbers, etc.

Submitted to the editorial board of the article (reports, notifications) should meet the established requirements and contain the following necessary elements: statement of the problem in general form and its relation to the important scientific or practical tasks; analyzing the latest research and publications, where the author has solved the problem; highlighting previously unresolved parts of the common problem, addressed by the article; formulating the goals of the article (setting the task); presenting the main research material with full substantiation of the scientific results; study findings and prospects for further researches in a specific direction.

Each article should contain the metadata. They are published in the journal, on the website of the publication and are kept in information and science databases:

1. UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) – it is submitted in a separate line, on the left, before information about author/authors.

2. Information about author/authors – it is submitted on the right, above the title of publication (command: right alignment) with the name and surname; the line below - the scientific degree and academic rank; position, place of work (full name); settlement (in brackets), where the author lives or works, country, e-mail; ORCID. All information is given in the nominative case. Author’s/ authors’ name is distinguished by bold and italic typeface.

3. Title of the publication – it is made in uppercase (capital) letters in bold typeface with one paragraph (command: center alignment). If a publication is submitted to several editions of periodical, its title may not be changed. In addition, in the footnote to the title of the material, you should indicate its continuation or completion.

4. Abstract – it is placed before the text of publication after its title. The volume is at least 2,000 characters (with spaces), without paragraph. Recommended items:

- purpose/objectives of the study;

- methodology/methods/scientific approaches;

- main results of the study;

- prospects for further studies;

- practical significance of the results achieved;

- originality of the study.

5. Keywords (six to eight) are submitted after abstract.

6. References – A list of used literature and published sources in alphabetical order, made in Latin transliteration. The references to archival material, available in this article, are not included. The references are mentioned after the main text.

The references and sources in References should be in accordance with the APA (American Psychological Association (APA) Style).

The following should be transliterated for design of Cyrillic citations: a) the names of authors; b) titles of publications; c) article’s title (Option: the author's English version of original title, if any, is provided).

In transliteration, it is necessary to pay attention to the spelling of the author/authors. Transliterate the names in accordance with the Decree by Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 55, dd. 27, January, 2010 “On Arrangement of Ukrainian Alphabet in Latin”.

The names of periodicals (journals) should be mentioned in accordance with the official spelling of ISSN registration number.

At the end of each bibliographic record, the language of publication should be mentioned in square brackets – [in Ukrainian], [in English], [in Russian], etc.

The metadata of paragraphs 2–5 is provided in Ukrainian and English.

2. Text design requirements

Text editor – not lower than Microsoft Office 2003, font – Times New Roman, keel – 14, line spacing – 1.5, edges – all 2 cm, indentation – 1.27 cm. File format – .doc, .docx. If you use non-standard fonts, you should provide a name for them or provide the font itself (default location in Windows: C:/Windows/Fonts).

The text is typed without hyphenation. Paragraph indents are formatted directly in the text, without spaces and tabs.

Tables are created automatically through the corresponding menu item and are numbered sequentially. Table binding to text is required (see table ...).

Illustrations are submitted in separate .jpeg files. Table binding to text is required (see illustration ...).

The following general rules should be followed when typing:

– Put a space between the words.

– Distinguish between dashes (–) and hyphen (–).

– Percentage signs as well as degrees, minutes, seconds are not separated from the digits (77%, 25°, 5', 30'').

– Common notation of units is given through a continuous gap (45 puds, UAH 150, 32 km, 6 millions, 45 thousands).

– Quotations are used paired ("..."), while taking into account the presence of "internal" quotations ("..." ... "...").

– Apostrophe looks like a single circular foot (').

– Dates are submitted through dashes without spaces.

3. Requirements for designation of notes and bibliographic references

Various notes (comments, clarifications) are made at the bottom of the corresponding page through the links menu automatically.

Bibliographic references are placed side by side in automatic mode. The callout sign is placed before punctuation mark (colon, semicolon, comma, and dot) and not after it.

The bibliographic link should include the following items:

– name and initials of the author/authors;

 – title of paper;

– responsibility information - information about the persons and organizations, who participated in creation of publication (compilers, editors, translators, etc.);

– initial data (place, year of publication);

– series information (journal number, issue, volume);

 – the page being referenced, or the total number of pages (when referencing the entire document).

The authors' names are italicized. The name is preceded by initials. A permanent gap is placed between the surname and the initials.

All references are in the original language. Repeated references to different works by one author use the abbreviated entry (author, first few words of title, three dots, dashes, page). If the re-reference is immediately after the original, its text is replaced by the words "Tam samo", "Tam zhe", "Ibid." (Depending on the language of the source being referenced).

The bibliographic references, included in the complex link, are arranged alphabetically and separated by semicolon. If several references to the same author/authors are included in the complex link, the second and subsequent references replace the last names and theirs, "Joho zh", "Jiji zh", "Jikh zhe", “Idem” etc.

References to archival materials are provided in national language, depending on the location of document. The first reference to the archive indicates its full name, and the parentheses indicate the abbreviation. The following links only refer to the abbreviation.

An electronic version of the article and one printed copy should be submitted to the editorial board. Materials that do not meet the requirements above will not be considered. The editorial board has the right to edit and to reduce the submitted texts. The author is responsible for content of the article, the truth of the facts, quotes, dates, etc.
